Media

An ordered management system for incoming information from different sources

Application management & System integration, Process optimisation, Software Development

Company description

Two major daily newspapers, one Italian and the other French. The first is the leader of a group of large newspapers designed for everyone, a publishing house with more than twenty titles. The second, on the other hand, is an international group operating in several markets.

THE ISSUE TO BE DEALT WITH

The need was to have a more orderly management system, especially with regard to costs, invoices and payments.

OUR SOLUTION

The objective of the proposed eCheck system is to manage incoming information from various sources, relating to the use of textual, iconographic and multimedia material, within editorial products, in order to identify the editorial costs of contributors, which will then have to feed the accounting, personnel and reporting systems, and to guarantee the sending of pseudo-invoices to contributors. The architectural design divides the solution into two distinct areas: a backend, structured in microservices, and a frontend, realized as a web app usable from a browser.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The system optimizes the so-called side-effect process, whereby all material to be published, instead of ending up in the hands of the journalist, is published on the management portal. For example, the image used is entered into the portal and then linked to a contract and various other systems, so that when the editorial team uses this image, if the secretariat approves, the entire billing process runs simultaneously.
